Let me introduce you to the beautiful ceramic work of  Mae Mougin.

Lazy Susan, a store that originated from in 1981, derived their name from the 1960 rotating tray Lady Susan which was meant to simplify life by accessing many items on the tray with one touch. For over twenty years Lazy Susan developed and manufactured its own exclusive product line that was originally available in their stores throughout Asia only, but they have now been available at US retailers since 2001.

So what kind of product do they manufacture? Mostly home accessories. What style do they design? You will not see a lot of bright colors in their collections because they are aiming to provide stylish, sleek and SERENE contemporary home accessories. Not that bright colors cannot be contemporary or sleek, but when it comes to making a serene environment it’s easy to go the other way with bright colors.

This is another one of those post that has nothing to do with interior design and furnishing but everything to do with creativity. The creator of these pieces is emiko-o and you can find more of her work on her website reware.

Thomas Wold is a furniture designer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thomas builds custom products which are sold at design stores around the world. With his talent he is able to combine many different styles and designs into one piece of furniture such as the Mixed Breed Armoire and the Fractured Fairy Tales.

The Mixed Breed Armoire was built for a couple in SF who were looking for a shoe storage unit. In this piece Thomas subtly brings together at least 8 different motifs. The classic shape and proportion of the armoire along with the soft grayish color keeps the furniture from being over the top. And the light at the upper left is a nice final touch that brings it to life.

The Fracture Fairy Tales really blew me away. It reminds me of a giant pretty puzzle with all the different colors, shapes and styles that comes together so perfectly. All of the negative space between the units can still be used for storage, and plus some of the material used are recycled material.

Creativity is everywhere on the Ligne Roset website. They collaborate with established and up and coming designers in contemporary design such as Michel Ducaroy, Didier Gomez, Pascal Mourgue, and the Bouroullec brothers to offer its consumer authenticity and quality. Ligne Roset has grown from a small family run wood processing factory in 1860 to a multi national family run company with more than 200 exclusive stores and 1,000 retail distributors worldwide.

Kyle Bunting has certainly redefined how hide is used in interior applications. He has taken something classic and transformed it into something modern. With his authentic hide collection it is undeniable that Kyle has been introducing the beauty of hide to those who like me never found it appealing enough for our interior.
